Miyamoto Yukio
There sometimes is a controversy, among vector atists, about whether what could be called “photo-realism” is really art, or needs to be considered as tracing/copying only. Regardless of what one may think of this, it’s a fact that Miyamoto Yukio, in the works he presents on his web page, displays a thorough technique, especially when it comes to gradient meshes (and these are one of the most powerful, but also most difficult tools of vector software to master). Hovering over his illustrations will show said meshes’ lace. Too much realism, or not? This I’ll leave to appreciation. One thing is sure, there’s no doubt much to learn, just by looking at his illustrations.
